Senior Portfolio & Project Administrator
Understands the business strategy of a particular function/area and either independently or with a
team defines business requirements.
Responsible for overseeing, managing and leveraging the entire life cycle of IT investments from
defining and targeting the investment mix, to planning the portfolio structure and packaging, to
communicating the portfolio plan and measuring results. It is a key strategic planning process
acting as the lead adviser to all leaders, portfolio and project managers and governance councils.With an understanding of the business needs/strategy of a particular function/area, determine thefit or non-fit of an ERP (i.e., Banner registration, payroll, financial aid) module and perhaps theneed for custom development or third-party purchase.
Responsible for seeing that projects are properly documented and tracked, including all
approvals and costs prior to approval and all work is completed on time and within budgetary
Responsible for product management functions, ensuring all products used are regularly
evaluated as effective for University functions and processes.
Responsible as a business process analyst when applying those analyses to projects, portfolios,
and procedures within the IT Division as a whole.
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution with coursework in project methodologies, or
equivalent experience with a PMP certification and training. Equivalent experience should be
full-time work with a direct project management focus.)
- 5 years experience in an IT role with exposure to a variety of technologies and applications
- 5 years experience in programming and maintaining project management systems
- 5 years experience managing IT projects
- 2 years managing project technology systems with experience providing training, prioritizing and responding to help requests, creating data standards and designing reports PMP certified;
*Years of experience may overlap if responsibilities are clearly defined and roles validated. (Must be full-time experience equivalent); Demonstrated experience designing and developing critical plans that document end to end processes in portfolio management;
- Demonstrated ability in managing large scale projects and providing oversight;
- Demonstrated ability in developing a system for maintaining and tracking products;
- Demonstrated ability to develop and support custom applications in Platform as a Service (Paas)
- environments, or other comparable tools, i.e., ServiceNow, etc.,
Seeking applicants with the following:
Ability to analyze and synthesize business requirements and create functional requirements to be
used for evaluating projects for selection;
Excels in presenting to large public audiences and/or internal groups with technical efficiency;
Demonstrated ability to lead a small team of Jr. or mixed level analysts that may or may not
report directly;Experience in managing and facilitating meetings; Preferred: ITIL Foundations V.3
Certification or Practitioner level certification in Project area.
